The Very Hungry Caterpillar at Tribeca Performing Arts Center

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a children's picture book by award-winning children's book illustrator and writer Eric Carle that has been hailed as one of the greatest childhood classics of all time. Selling over 30 million copies worldwide since its 1969 release, the book's inspiring tale will come to life on stage using puppets and black light when the Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia comes to the Tribeca Performing Arts Center. The tale follows the adventures of a very hungry caterpillar that progresses through a variety of foods towards his metamorphosis into a beautiful butterfly. Children will delight in the antics of Little Cloud, who slips away from the rest and transforms itself into various shapes-a sheep, an airplane, a shark and more.
