Fish In The Dark Sets New House Box Office Record at the Cort Theatre

FISH IN THE DARK, the new comedy written by and starring Larry David, has broken yet another box office record during its third week of previews at the Cort Theatre.

The comedy, directed by Anna D. Shapiro, which had previously set the record for the highest advance sale for a straight play in the history of Broadway, has set the house record at the Cort Theatre with a gross of $1,177,593 (representing 101.58% of attendance and 117.06% of the week's gross potential), for the week ending February 22, the production's first 8-performance week. It tops the house record previously held by the Tony Award winning revival of August Wilson's Fences, which grossed $1,175,626 during the final week of its run in 2010.

FISH IN THE DARK, which also stars Rita Wilson, Rosie Perez, Jayne Houdyshell, Ben Shenkman and Lewis J. Stadlen, heading a cast of 18, is running for an 18-week limited engagement through Sunday, June 7. Opening night is Thursday, March 5.

The production has scenic design by Todd Rosenthal, costume design by Ann Roth, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt, sound design by Rob Milburn and Michael Bodeen, and original music by David Yazbek..

FISH IN THE DARK, is performed Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8pm, with matinees Wednesday and Saturday at 2pm and Sunday at 3pm. Beginning Tuesday, March 11, Tuesday and Thursday performances will begin at 7pm.
