Machinal

Machinal

American Airlines Theatre
227 West 42nd Street New York

Inspired by the infamous 1927 murder trial of spouse killer Ruth Snyder, Machinal is the powerful tale of one woman's isolation as she experiences a life trapped in a passionless marriage and an unwanted motherhood. But when she begins to discover her own carnal desires, the story takes a violent turn. Written in 1928, playwright and journalist Sophie Treadwell's masterpiece is eerily relevant for today's audiences. Golden Globe nominee Rebecca Hall (The Town, Vicky Cristina Barcelona) stars in this new production directed by Lyndsey Turner.
