In Islander, a girl named Eilidh spends her days on a hardship-wracked Scottish island. The last child left there, she feels lonely as many of the island's other residents have fled for the mainland. She dreams of a new life somewhere out beyond her island and the vast sea that surrounds it. Everything changes when a mysterious stranger washes ashore with the tide, and the line between reality and myth blurs. The Islander musical is inspired by Scottish legends about "fin-folk" who live in the sea.
