Sparks fly as one of the most unlikely romantic couples in all of literature, Kate and Petruchio, meet and proceed toward marriage. The fun begins when wealthy Italian merchant Baptista Miniola decrees that the younger of his two daughters cannot be wed before her strong-willed, less popular and less beautiful sister is married. The problem is that no man in Padua is willing will marry Katherine the shrew. That is, until the fortune-hunting Petruchio, newly arrived from Verona, agrees to woo and wed Katherine (for a sizable dowry, of course). Thus, the battle of the sexes begins. Through a series of hilarious hijinks, Katherine is made to bend to her new husband's will, and she reappears before her disbelieving family transformed. The production is directed by Tom Waites, whose short film Pandora's Box won Best Director and Best Screenplay for the Short Film Contest at Atlantic City Film Festival.
