A visually compelling and sensual distillation of the Snow White fairy tale made famous by the Brothers Grimm, Snow in the Living Room is an Italian monodrama (adopted and translated into English) from writer-director-actor Orietta Crispino. Bianca, prostrate in a crystal coffin, lays in wait of the arrival of a redeemer who will liberate her. But with no hero on the horizon, Bianca must acknowledge some deeply personal truths -- finding intimate facts in the corners of her fractured soul and learning to accept that death is just one of the things that makes us human. With echoes of the Tibetan Book of the Dead, this dynamic tale of fear and desire is presented through splintered mirror images, complex soundscapes and a story that lives somewhere in the space between body and self.
