Michele Mariotti conducts the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in this effervescent production of Rossini's funniest and most popular opera. The Barber of Seville's timeless story of young love unfolds in Spain and finds Count Almaviva striving to win the love of the beautiful Rosina. To rescue her from her awful guardian, the Count enlists the help of the town's busybody barber, the famed Figaro, who ends up creating mostly mayhem with his disguises and schemes. With a triumphant overture made famous through other mediums, The Barber of Seville appeals to both opera newbies and aficionados. Sung in Italian with Met Titles in English, German, Italian and Spanish.
