A Dog Story at Davenport Theatre

In this sure-to-be-lovable new show, a lawyer, who's lusting after a partnership at his firm, wants to settle down to seal the deal. So he gets a puppy, aka a bonafide "chick magnet," in an effort to collar a wife. The pup, appropriately named Cupid, does manage to dig up some attention for its owner from the opposite sex in the form of a beautiful businesswoman and a no-nonsense dog trainer, leading to all kinds of musical-comedy complications. A Dog Story features David Perlman (Baby, It's You!), Stefanie Brown (Wicked tour), Brian Ray Norris (Mamma Mia! tour) and Lindsie VanWinkle (Nevermore) with music and lyrics by Gayla D. Morgan (Mary - A Musical) and book by Eric H. Weinberger (Class Mothers '68).
