The Brooks Atkinson Theatre originally opened as the Mansfield on February 15,1926. On September 12, 1960 it was rechristened the Brooks Atkinson Theatre in tribute to the eminent drama critic of The New York Times. The Theatre is currently under the direction of Messrs. Nederlander.
