Pamela Anderson will make her Broadway debut in Chicago
Mar 7, 2022

Chicago on BroadwayLong-running Broadway musical "Chicago," has announced that Pamela Anderson, activist and actor, will join the cast to play Roxie Hart for a limited eight week run. Anderson will be making her Broadway debut in the role. She will perform it at the Ambassador Theatre from April 12 to June 5.

Anderson is most well-known for her role as CJ in the popular '90s TV series Baywatch. Anderson has been seen on ABC's "Baywatch" as CJ, the Tool Time Girl. She also played Val on "V.I.P." She also produced the series. She was photographed on the Playboy cover a record 14 times in America, and appeared on Playboy's international covers more than 100 times.

Anderson created the Pamela Anderson Foundation, advocating for human and animal rights. She also lends her advocacy towards the National Domestic Violence Hotline. Anderson is also a board member of PETA and Honorary Director.

"I have always been a huge fan of Bob Fosse's and Gwen Verdon's work. Ann Reinking, too," said Anderson in a statement. "Playing Roxie Hart is a dream fulfilled. Performing Fosse, you don't have time to get in your head. You can't dance, sing, and think at the same time. There is a freedom, a unique joy in knowing it's all about the work. Playing Roxie Hart is a sweet escape for me."

The story of Roxie Hart is set in the 1920s razzle-dazzle decadence. Roxie Hart is a nightclub dancer and housewife who kills her lover on the side after he threatened to walk away from her. In her desperate attempt to avoid being convicted, Roxie Hart hires Chicago's most slick criminal lawyer to make her malicious crime into sensational headlines.

"Chicago", a Broadway musical that features a legend book by Fred Ebb & Bob Fosse, music and lyrics by John Kander, is the longest-running American musical.
