During the Met's October performances, Placido Domingo will conduct and charismatic sopranos Oksana Dyka and Angela Gheorghiu will rotate in the role of Puccini's eternal diva, Tosca, opposite tenor and champion of the Italian verismo style, Roberto Aronica as her lover, the artist and revolutionary Cavaradossi. Aronica performs one of the most beautiful arias in the operatic repertoire, "E lucevan le stelle," sung by the doomed Cavaradossi as he awaits execution.
