The Irving Berlin Ragtime Revue at 13th Street Repertory Company

Irving Berlin composed some of the greatest popular songs ever written. His enchanting songs have been recorded and re-recorded by everyone from Bing Crosby to Jerry Garcia, while George Gershwin called him "the greatest songwriter that has ever lived." The glories of Berlin's tunes, particularly the ones from early in his career, are showcased in a new musical, The Irving Berlin Ragtime Revue. This fast-paced show with a lively cast includes 40 of Berlin's songs -- among them such well-known tunes as "Alexander's Ragtime Band" and "When the Midnight Choo Choo Leaves for Alabam'" -- along with lovely rarities, rediscoveries and even some tunes that have never been recorded.
