The Girls of Summer

The Girls of Summer

Actors Temple Theatre
339 West 47th Street New York

It's 1945 and baseball history is about to be made. A black, female baseball team is set to play an exhibition game against the reigning champs, the Rockford Peaches. Two weeks into their training, however, their coach is found dead. Inspired by the film A League of Their Own, The Girls of Summer takes a look at baseball from the perspective of those who were left out of mainstream sports. It's also a powerful drama of racism and betrayal that's brought to light as the hidden story beneath the surface is revealed.
