The Club

Urban Stages Theatre
259 West 30th Street New York

One of the modern classics of Australian theater, David Williamson's famous satire comes to New York. The Club is about the corruption and greed that reign supreme in the world of Australian Rules football. The club in question hasn't won a game all season, despite paying a fortune to a new star player who couldn't care less about football. The coach wants to quit, the players threaten to strike, and the club president is caught in a scandal. Of course, all of that wouldn't mean a thing if only the team had a chance at winning the championship. Sound familiar?
