Solitary Light at Axis Theatre

The disastrous events of the March 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire provide the backdrop for this historical musical. Solitary Light follows two lovestruck immigrant workers whose fates are sealed by the horrific New York City incident that claimed the lives of 146 garment workers and is remembered as one of the country's deadliest industrial disasters of all time. The production illuminates the struggles and strife of early 20th century life and lays out the factors that led up to the Triangle disaster. What's more, the musical shines a light on similar tragedies that are still occurring in modern-day garment factories.
