Roughly Speaking

Roughly Speaking

Tada Theatre
15 W 28th St New York City

In this exploration of New Yorker culture, wheelchair-bound rapper Lightning.Bolt experiences a not-so-typical day at a soup kitchen in the Big Apple. Thus, Roughly Speaking answers questions of love, loss and Lightning.Bolt's future through song and rap, all of which was composed by a cast member of the play. The play was inspired by over 200 interviews with the NYC homeless, and makes for an extremely close look at those we may otherwise avoid communication with. You'll also see work by artist Willie Baronet, who's best known for his "We are all homeless" installation at the Democratic National Convention, with a similar installation in the lobby at the Tada Theatre.
