Red Eye of Love

Dicapo Opera Theatre
187 East 76th St New York

Tony Award-winning orchestrator Ted Sperling (The Light in the Piazza) directs the Off-Broadway premiere of Red Eye of Love, a zany musical comedy about a young woman who's courted by two drastically different men. Wilmer's a naive young dreamer, while the blustery businessman O.O. Martinas happens to own the world's largest butcher store. Described as a "girl-meats-boy" story, the love triangle plays out against the ups-and-downs of American life, through war and economic times both good and bad. Based on a 1961 play by Arnold Weinstein, the play boasts a score by Sam Davis and book and lyrics by Weinstein and John Wulp. Alli Mauzey (Cry Baby, Wicked), Josh Grisetti (Enter Laughing) and Kevin Pariseau (Legally Blonde) star in this Amas production.
