That's perhaps the musical question pondered in the quirky four-person song cycle Ghost Quartet by Dave Malloy, now playing at The McKittrick Hotel. Malloy, who wrote the hit off-Broadway pop-opera Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, is one of the four voices, which are backed by a chamber ensemble. Seated throughout the audience, the performers will lead you through seven centuries of "the other side" in languages as varied as gospel, folk ballads, honky-tonk heartbreak anthems, electro-pop, Arabic, contemporary classic, doo-wop and jazz.
