Die Zauberflote at Metropolitan Opera House

Directed by Tony Award winner Julie Taymor (The Lion King), this visually stunning and spellbinding musical journey is the story of Prince Tamino, who sets out on a quest to save Pamina, daughter of the mysterious and beautiful Queen of the Night. South African soprano Pretty Yende returns to the company for the first time since her stunning debut in 2013 to star, along with English tenor Toby Spence (Hamlet, The Tempest), Macedonian soprano Ana Durlovski and Met veteran René Pape. This production also marks the first full-length German-language performances of Mozart's final opera in five seasons, and features Taymor's always-imaginative puppetry, staging and costuming. Plus, it's a pretty cool way to spend Halloween, with shows surrounding and on the holiday itself.
