Complexions Contemporary Ballet: Innervisions at Mayo Performing Arts Center

Stevie Wonder's timeless music -- including songs from his landmark 1973 album Innervisions, a sonic pop masterpiece that ranks 23rd on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time -- serves as the inspiration for this upbeat modern dance tribute from Complexions Contemporary Ballet. Founded by Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson, former Alvin Ailey dancers and frequent contributors to the Fox's hit dance competition So You Think You Can Dance, Complexions is known for its revolutionary mix of methods, styles and cultures to create works that reflect our evolving, multicultural modern world. The New York-based company's rigorously trained performers, all from different dance and ethnic backgrounds, now bring movement to the music of Stevie Wonder in this evening of innovative dance that also features new works currently in production.
