As concerned with sex as it is with psychiatry, Christopher Durang's hilarious romantic farce Beyond Therapy is packed to the gills with off-the-wall humor, warped therapy sessions and awkward dates. Returning to the off-Broadway stage, Durang's 1983 comedy follows two Manhattanites who are in therapy to try to fix their terrible love lives. They end up on a disastrously funny first date together and as they try to connect, it becomes increasingly clear that the therapists have as many issues as their patients -- if not more. Ultimately, the play itself provides the best therapy of all: guaranteed laughs.
